Fifth Ashes Test: England vs Australia - day two betting tips

Day two of the fifth and final Ashes Test is poised to serve up another day of high drama. But where should your money go?

Australia may be disappointed with their effort in the field on day one at The Oval. Misfields and dropped chances meant the Aussies were in the field longer than they could have been
Middle-order batter Harry Brook fell just 15 runs short of his first ton on home soil. The number five batter top-scored for England as they were bowled out for 283.
In reply with the ball, the England seamers have bowled economical spells to leave the visitors on 61 for one.

Suggested bets for day two at The Oval.

Usman Khawaja to score over 49.5

Khawaja has done the bulk of the run-scoring in the opening partnership this series. David Warner's opening partner has scored 403 runs at an average of 50.37. Those stats include one century and two half-centuries.

Khawaja only managed 21 runs across both innings in the fourth Test at Old Trafford. His odds are 11/10 to score under 49.5.

Marnus Labuschagne to score over 49.5

Labuschagne has almost had the opposite record to Khawaja. After a slow start to the series, scoring 144 runs across his first six innings, he drastically turned his form around with 51 and 111 in Manchester.
The right-handed batter has started this innings rather conservatively with a strike rate under 10. If he continues to struggle for fluency, his odds of 4/9 to score under 49.5 may be a good pick.

Next mode of dismissal - caught

The first wicket of the Australian innings came from a Zak Crawley catch in the slips.

Both Khawaja and Labuschagne have been dismissed caught over 60 percent of the time in all their Test dismissals versus England.
If England can maintain hitting the correct lines and lengths on day two, they may see the wicketkeeper and slips in business.

Bowled is at 7/2. Australian batters have been victims of being bowled 13 times in the series.

The English bowling line-up is filled with pace bowlers who know how to exploit swinging and seaming conditions. They'll be hoping to get a few deliveries to beat the bat and dismantle the stumps.
