Leicester have secured the services of Rehan Ahmed for the foreseeable future after the England international signed a new four-year contract.
Leicestershire have announced Rehan Ahmed has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2027 season.
The 18-year-old academy graduate agreed a contract until the end of the 2026 season last April but has since extended that deal by a further year.
Ahmed became the youngest male to play Test cricket for England in December 2022 - aged 18 years and 126 days - and has featured on 43 occasions for his county side, scoring 905 runs and taking 48 wickets.
Ahmed told Foxes TV: "I'm delighted to sign another year on top of my current deal. Leicestershire is a very family-like club and I think it's the best place for my development.
"I started my professional career here. To pick me and back me at such a young age, it was unbelievable. I want to repay that faith."
Director of cricket Claude Henderson added: "Rehan extending his stay is fantastic news and a massive boost for the whole club."
