England seamer Craig Overton puts pen to paper on three-year contract extension with Somerset

England seamer Craig Overton has signed a three-year contract extension with Somerset, keeping him at the county until at least the end of the 2026 season.

Overton, who has featured in eight Tests and seven ODIs, joined the club's academy as a 16-year-old and made his senior debut in April 2012, going on to take 500 wickets in 200 matches in all formats.

His existing deal was due to expire at the end of the summer but the 28-year-old, who was awarded another pace bowling development contract by England last October, has pledged his future to Somerset.
"I'm delighted to sign this long extension with the club. Somerset fans know how much the club means to me and that I'm hungry for team success," said Overton, who most recently played for England last July.
"There is still lots to achieve, not least the holy grail of (winning) a County Championship title.
"We've made some impressive signings since last season, and we're excited and hopeful that the next few years will prove to be most enjoyable and fruitful for all concerned."
