Disappointment for England and Australia as Women’s Ashes T20 is abandoned

Points have been shared in the Women’s Ashes series after their second T20 faced a wash out.

Australia, who won the opening T20 match, currently lead the series 3-1 after the latest points split.
The second match only lasted four overs before the heavens opened and forced the contest to be abandoned.

Danni Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont made an encouraging start for England, scoring 25 runs without loss.

Wyatt was looking to back up her impressive score of 70 from the first T20 match and made an impressive start, putting 14 runs on the board from just 12 balls.
The series is decided on the best of 16 points, with two points each for victory in a white-ball game and four points for claiming a Test match.
The sides will meet again in Adelaide on Sunday for the final match of the T20 leg of the series, which then moves on to Canberra and Melbourne.
