Tommy Fury faces Jake Paul's friend and sparring partner Anthony Taylor in his US debut this weekend.
This is the former Love Island star's third fight in 2021. He picked up a stoppage victory over Scott Williams at the Copper Box Arena in February. Then in June, he beat Jordan Grant on points in a four-round contest.
At the same time, Fury has been going back and forth on social media with YouTube star Paul.
A fight between Fury and Paul looks to be in the pipeline with the Brit set to appear on the undercard of the YouTuber's bout against former UFC world champion Tyrone Woodley on Sunday night.
The Brit will be out to shine against Taylor to build anticipation for a potential pay-per-view main event against Paul.
Planet Sport Bet have Fury as 1/16 favourite to come with the victory in his US debut.
The stats that matter…
Fury has much more experience compared to Taylor. The 22-year-old has won all six of his professional fights since 2018.
Taylor, meanwhile, has only had one pro boxing bout. That came in 2017 when he faced fellow American Donte Stubbs. His opponent was also making his debut and Taylor lost the four-round contest via a split decision.
'Pretty Boy' is better known for MMA, where he has had 12 fights since 2015. He has featured on cards for Bellator and BAMMA.
Taylor lost five of his first seven bouts but he is currently on a five-fight winning streak. His last victory came in January 2020 via a majority decision against Chris Avila.
Fury vs Taylor will be contested at cruiserweight (200lb). The Brit is not just more experienced than Taylor, he also has a nine-inch reach advantage.
What would a win mean for Fury?
This is clearly a stepping stone fight for Fury. There is a grander plan at play here, with Frank Warren giving his young fighter his US debut in front of a huge audience.
With his feud with Paul bubbling away, Warren will see this weekend as the perfect opportunity for Fury to make a good impression in front of a new fanbase.
Should the fight go to plan, Fury will stop Taylor in decisive fashion to build the hype for his fight against the YouTuber-turned boxer.
It is not outside the realms of possibility for there to be a face-off between Paul and Fury to close out the night's action…
