Terri Harper not impressed by Natasha Jonas' conduct ahead of Fight Camp week 2

Safe to say time-keeping isn't one of Jonas' strong points...

WBC junior lightweight champion Terri Harper has questioned Natasha Jonas’ professionalism after the Olympian turned up late to Matchroom HQ’s bubble ahead of fight week.

Every person participating in the event was given a selected time for COVID-19 tests but Jonas missed her arranged time and instead turned up on Tuesday afternoon. Harper – who collides with Jonas in the first all-English female world title bout in combat sports – was less than impressed with her opponent.

Harper told Sky Sports: “No threat of bumping into her!

“I believe it is unprofessional, personally. I do not know the explanation behind it – hopefully it is a good one – however I believe it is unprofessional.

“For me, she will do what she desires. However on [behalf of Matchroom and Sky Sports], the work that you’ve got put in, ensuring all the things sticks to the schedule, it is thrown a spanner within the works.”

Harper added: “For me, skilled and newbie boxing are two utterly completely different types.

“We’re not going to do something daft. We’re not going to be on the lookout for a stoppage.

“I will use my engine that for some purpose Natasha thinks might be a nasty factor. I will work Natasha all night time and break her down.”

Mayer vows to kick Harper's ass

Mikaela Mayer has revealed promoter Bob Arum has promised her a world title shot with WBO queen Ewa Brodnicka on the radar. The 2016 Olympian - unbeaten from 13 bouts - is hoping that her and Harper can share the ring together across the Atlantic.

“There is not any arduous emotions in the direction of her,” Mayer informed Sky Sports activities. “I simply need to combat her, kick her ass and take her belt!
