Canelo seeking long-term partnership with Hearn; calls him 'best promoter in the world'
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has revealed his intent to work with Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn for a 'very long time' after their first two-fight deal.
In December, the pound-for-pound king beat Matchroom-promoted Callum Smith to become the WBA and WBC super middleweight champion.
Speaking about Hearn, Canelo told TV Azteca (via BoxingScene): "The idea is to continue to work with him for a very long time. He is the best promoter in the world, by far.
"It is great to finally work with this type of promoter. It is true we signed a two-fight deal, for February and May [vs. Avni Yildirim and Billy Joe Saunders]. I like this way of working, and Eddie is happy to continue with this too [to work on one and two-fight deals]."
Canelo recorded a brutal victory over Yildirim to set up a highly-anticipated fight with Britain's Saunders later this year.
Canelo Alvarez started working with Eddie Hearn in December and is now hoping to continue their partnership
He continued: "We have already asked [Hearn] to lead the negotiations for our September fight, possibly against [Caleb] Plant, and he has started talks with their team.
