Ryan Garcia goes after George Kombosos Jnr stadium fight and predicts method of victory

Ryan Garcia has his eye on a blockbuster return to the lightweight scene in April after a 15-month lay-off.

Ryan Garcia believes he is the "perfect pick" for George Kambosos Jr. to defend his four lightweight titles against in April in Australia.
Kambosos Jr. has been eyeing a huge stadium fight in his native Australia ever since his shock win over Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden in November. The 28-year-old won via a split decision in a fight which was named upset of the year.

Kambosos Jr. (20-0, 10 KOs), who floored Lopez in the first round, has got the likes of Devin Haney or Vasily Lomachenko in his sights. But neither will represent the draw of US star Garcia.

Ryan, 23, has not fought since knocking out Luke Campbell in January 2021, but he looks set to get back into the ring in April.

Canelo Alvarez

Oscar De La Hoya has said he is working on "something huge" for his young star Garcia (21-0, 18 KOs). And it seems the Californian wants to come back with a "bang" against the man, who was best known as Manny Pacquiao's sparring partner before his big upset in New York..

"I have a response to all the things that have been said about me during a time that I didn't have a voice," said Ryan Garcia to ES News..

'I knock him out within probably seven rounds'

"I like that fight," said Garcia about a match-up against Kambosos.
"I would sell better than every single one of these guys. I win that fight; I knock him out within probably seven rounds.
"It's a good fight," Ryan said about a match between Kambosos and Haney. "I think Devin maybe pulls it through with a majority decision, but yeah, I would love that opportunity to fight [Kambosos]. Hopefully, he wants it. Come on.
"I make more sense. I'm coming off a layoff, and you just got the belt. I had hand surgery. I'm the perfect picking. You might as well go after me," said Garcia.
'King Ry' does have other options though, but he is confident of securing a big return fight.
"It's definitely a range of opponents," Garcia said
"Obviously, I'm going for some top guys. Hopefully we can come back with a bang. If not, I'm going after anybody at this point."
Both Mercito Gesta and Saul Rodriguez were thought to be potential opponents.
Garcia though dashed that talk earlier this month when he responded on Twitter with 'not true'.
