Rafael Espinoza stuns Robeisy Ramirez and the world with huge upset win

Relatively unknown Rafael Espinoza exited the ring at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Florida as WBO World Featherweight champion after pulling off a stunning victory over Robeisy Ramirez.

Going into the fight, Espinoza was given very little chance against the two-time Olympic gold medalist and reigning WBO champion and no-one would have been expecting the energy-sapping, all-action affair that unfolded.

After 12 rounds of brutal boxing from both men, Espinoza emerged victorious with a majority decision win and a brand new title belt.

Espinoza recovered phenomenally from being knocked to the mat in the third round and even managed to floor his Cuban opponent mere seconds before the final bell rang, which may have gone a long way to convincing the judges of his superiority.

While Ramirez was scored the stronger fighter through the middle rounds, a strong start and a bullish finished allowed Espinoza to sneak a dramatic upset.
