Liam Davies vs Jason Cunningham tips: Four championships and one unbeaten record at stake in Telford

Planet Sport looks ahead to a big British showdown in Telford as Liam Davies takes on Jason Cunningham.

A total of four championship belts - including the British super-bantamweight title - will be on the line when Liam Davies and Jason Cunningham square off at the Telford International Centre.

Davies, who will also defend his EBU European super bantamweight title and the WBC International super bantamweight belt, currently boasts an impressive 13-0 professional record.
The Telford man won his last two bouts in his hometown, including a unanimous decision win over Romania's Ionut Baluta last November.

Davies has future world title ambitions and victory on Saturday night will undoubtedly move him a step closer to fulfilling his dream.

Standing in his way is Jason Cunningham who is bringing his WBO International super bantamweight title to the party.
The 33-year-old is far more experienced in the professional ranks, boasting a record of 32-7.
While the southpaw ended 2022 with a knockout defeat to Zolani Tete at Wembley Arena, he came back strong last March and picked up a comfortable unanimous decision against Miguel Gonzalez.
Cunningham admitted this is the biggest fight of his career and even described it as 'make or break'.
While the Doncaster man boasts more experience in the professional arena, Davies is the bookies favourite for a reason.
The 27-year-old may not be a knockout artist, with just five stoppages to his name, but he has the ability to simply out-box his opponents.
Earlier this week, Naoya Inoue proved he is the king of the super bantamweight division with a TKO victory over Stephen Fulton in Tokyo, Japan.

If either Davies or Cunningham are to ever reach world level and potentially challenge some of the best in the 122-pound division, winning on Saturday is a necessity.

Our recommendation is to back Davies to pick up a unanimous decision in front of his home fans.
While the build up to the bout may have been somewhat hot-tempered, both men are expected to take a pragmatic approach - something that will suit Davies down to a T.
