Kubrat Pulev vs Andrzej Wawrzyk: Full fight card as Anthony Joshua’s former title opponent returns

Pulev hasn’t been seen in competitive action since his split decision defeat to Derek Chisora back in July 2022.

Seventeen months on, the 42-year-old returns to the squared circle as he looks to bag his 30th professional victory.

The Bulgarian is a two-time world title challenger, losing to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014 and Anthony Joshua back in December 2020.

Pulev boasts a 29-3 record with 14 of his successes coming by way of knockout.

Despite being out of the ring for over a year, Pulev hasn’t got an easy challenge ahead of him as he prepares to share the ring with Wawrzyk.

The Polish heavyweight boasts a 34-2 record with 20 knockouts to his name. Former interim world champion Alexander Povetkin and fellow Pole Michal Boloz are the only ones to have toppled the 36-year-old.

Back in 2017, Wawrzyk was expected to challenge Deontay Wilder for the WBC world title. However, an adverse finding in his doping tests led to a six-year spell away from competitive action.

The Krakow-born boxer returned in September 2022 where he lost in the second-round to Boloz.

His latest outing took place in August 2023 when he stopped Kamil Bodzioch in the very first round.
