  • KSI Reveals His ‘Angry’ Response To Tommy Fury Loss As Result Appeal Fails ‘I Felt Like I Won’

KSI reveals his ‘angry’ response to Tommy Fury loss as result appeal fails - ‘I felt like I won’

YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI has spoken out on his loss to Tommy Fury, with the social media star insisting he “felt like he won”.

KSI fought Fury in the main event of Misfits Boxing’s Prime Card at the Manchester Arena on October 14.

The YouTuber was a huge underdog heading into his bout with Fury, who was coming off a narrow win over Jake Paul.

The fight itself could have been more entertaining to watch as there was a lot of holding in the six-round contest. But KSI arguably had the most success in the exchanges with Fury, who was deducted a point in the early stages for punches to the back of the head.

Despite this, Fury was controversially ruled the winner by unanimous decision.

KSI’s team appealed this decision but it has now been revealed that this has been rejected so the original verdict will stand.

The 30-year-old has now broken his silence on the event after taking a break from social media. He has admitted that he was reduced to tears after getting home following his loss.

“I had trained so hard these past few months, working overtime to do what most people saw was impossible and that was to beat Tommy Fury,” KSI said via his YouTube channel.

“I felt like I won the fight so to have the judges completely take that moment away from me, it sucked.

“As soon as I got back home I was angry, disappointed and eventually I just broke down and started crying, it wasn’t fair, but life isn’t fair, am I right?

“I looked back at the fight and I tried to find any highlights, any showings of Tommy Fury beating me in that fight and it was just hard to see any.

“It was crazy because so many people thought I won the fight, from Eddie Hearn to [Israel] Adesanya to Ariel Helwani, to the millions all over the internet who thought I won the fight.”

KSI later explained why he thinks he still “came out better” than Fury despite him suffering a loss.

“I feel much better, in terms of the Tommy Fury fight, I feel like I’ve come out better, much better than he is, I would much rather be in my position than his, but it’s nice to know that my fight with Tommy Fury will be the biggest fight he’ll ever have in his life…” KSI added.

“The fact that Tommy Fury was unable to knockout a YouTuber who has been boxing for about three years is actually hilarious.

“Tommy has essentially been boxing all his life and he struggled to even jab me, even with everything in his favour like the venue, the weight, the rehydration clause, he was able to just balloon to 200lbs on fight night, even with all of that, he wasn’t able to get rid of me convincingly.”
