Kell Brook targets Terence Crawford or Keith Thurman for November

Kell Brook
The Special One has issued a threat to Crawford and Thurman, who are being lined up as potential opponents for Brook later this year.
Sheffield’s Kell Brook is setting his sights on his next fight with two of welterweight’s biggest names on his list in America duo Terence Crawford and Keith Thurman.
The 34-year-old also stated that he will be ready to step into the ring again by the end of the year. October and November are possible dates for his return.
Brook told Sky Sports that he is staying busy and ready with the former WBA champion and current WBO titlist on his radar.
"I'm going to put myself in the best position for when things come back to normal.
"I'm very keen on fighting Crawford. I think Keith Thurman has spouted that he would love the British pound. He would like the fight, so I'm keeping myself active in Fuerteventura with Josh Taylor, Billy Joe. They're a good bunch of lads out here. We're working hard.
“I'm very light. I don't like to say what weight I am, but I'm very light, especially for me having no date.”
“If it's Crawford, he'll be defending his title, so it will be 147. Thurman, it could be a catchweight. I can be ready for October, November for 147."
Khan-Brook chances finally dead?
Seeing this news may surprise some, given that there has been talk of late that Brook may finally fight Amir Khan.
There have been rumblings of the two Brits fighting for years, after going back and forth with each other for what feels like their entire careers.
But with the ongoing global pandemic, talk of an all British mega-fight has cooled. It is looking less likely to happen as both fighters begin winding down their careers.
The last time we saw Brook in the ring was in February 2020 where he bested Mark DeLuca in his hometown at the FlyDSA Arena.
Crawford is considered one of the very best fighters in the world at the moment. The three-division world champion is ranked number three in Boxing365’s P4P rankings while Thurman lost a split-decision to Manny Pacquiao last summer.
Before this one, Brook had not fought for over a year dating back to December 2018 with an underwhelming decision win over Michael Zerafa.
If Brook does fight Crawford or Thurman then no doubt the Briton will rank as a big outsider.
The Dominic Ingle fighter has had an inactive couple of years since surrendering his IBF crown to Errol Spence Jr but he is now hopeful of securing the biggest fights possible before he hangs the gloves up.
His defeat to Spence in 2017 followed on from a devastating defeat to Gennadiy Golovkin at London’s O2 Arena for the middleweight titles.
Both bouts saw Brook end up with fractured eye sockets.
A win against Crawford or Thurman would be an incredible achievement for a fighter who looks to have left his best days behind him.
