Joe Frazier beats brave Lennox Lewis, set for fourth showdown with Muhammad Ali

In a sensational battle, Joe Frazier overcame Lennox Lewis in a seven round shootout and will face familiar foe Muhammad Ali in the semi-finals.

And yes, before we continue, we know this isn’t real, it’s a bit of fun to help fans get through the coronavirus crisis.
In real life, Ali won the bragging rights in the ‘Thrilla in Manila’ battle, their third and last fight against each other. Ali retired ‘Smokin’ Joe’ after the 14th round to win the series 2-1 although Frazier did inflict the first defeat of Ali’s career in the ‘Fight of the Century’ showdown in 1971.
The fantastic esport version of the World Boxing Super Series (eWBSS) has presented Frazier the chance of making it 2-2 against the ‘Greatest’ for a place in the final.
The simulated EA Sports ‘Fight Night Champion’ game saw Lewis on his back after being pegged to the canvas in the opening round from a stinging left hook.
The ‘Pugilist Specialist’ displayed his true champion spirit, as he rallied back to give Frazier a taste of his own medicine in round four with a crushing body shot.
The American soon regained momentum in the fifth though, and in the seventh it was all she wrote as Frazier delivered a sweet left uppercut to end proceedings.
At the time of the stoppage, all three judges had Frazier leading the ‘Lion’ 56-55. The inaugural tournament continues tonight with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson taking on Erich ‘Butterbean’ Esch in the third quarter-final.

“Congrats to Smokin’ Joe on a big win. He caught me with a great shot that and i was never really able to recover from [it]. Hats off to him. I’ll see him in the rematch,” said Lewis.
