‘Get your licence’ – Harlem Eubank calls out Conor Benn after devastating TKO of Timo Schwarzkopf

Harlem Eubank

Harlem Eubank called out Conor Benn after picking up an impressive TKO victory over Germany’s Timo Schwarzkopf.

The 29-year-old improved his professional record to 19-0 after landing a devastating right hand in the 11th round.

Schwarzkopf got up on unsteady legs leaving the referee no option but to call the bout to an end.

Earlier in the fight, Eubank scored a third-round knockdown and was also deducted a point in the fifth for punching below the belt.

In the post-fight interview on Channel 5, Eubank made his next intentions crystal clear, saying: “I’m the WBO Global champion. Conor, get your licence. I’m done at 140, I’m coming up to 147.

“Timo’s never got stopped. I don’t believe Conor has fought anyone at that level. I showed what I can do, I’m coming up to 147. Conor Benn, get your licence.”

He added: “I showed what I can do in there against a guy the level of Timo. I’m coming up to 147lbs, Conor Benn is first on my hitlist. Let’s get it on.”

When asked about his power, Eubank said: “If you get past the trickery, past the dancing, you’ll meet the power. That’s what we’re going to show more of.

“Conor Benn has been speaking gibberish for the last two years. Get your licence, let’s go.”

Benn was scheduled to take on Chris Eubank Jr last year, but the fight was ultimately cancelled after 27-year-old failed two voluntary doping tests.

The Brit has always insisted he is innocent of intentionally doping, though he remains without a licence to fight in the UK.

A provisional suspension imposed by UK Anti-Doping was lifted in July courtesy of the independent National Anti-Doping Panel. However, Ukad and the British Boxing Board of Control are in the process of appealing against the decision.

Despite this, Benn did mark his return to the ring last September. The Brit picked up a unanimous decision victory over Rodolfo Orozco in Orlando, Florida, USA.
