Frank Warren calls out Eddie Hearn in bid to reignite British boxing
"The time is right to throw off the shackles"
Frank Warren has thrown down the gauntlet to rival Eddie Hearn after urging the Matchroom promoter to join forces for future fight cards.
Warren released a statement on Tuesday night revealing his intent on working with Hearn to determine who has the best stable. And according to the Hall of Famer, now is the right time to work together after previously admitting to never meeting Hearn despite their ongoing feud. Should the deal come into fruition, a lot would need to happen.
Queensberry Promotions have a deal in place with BT Sport and ESPN while Matchroom broadcast fights exclusively on Sky Sports and DAZN across the Atlantic.
However, Warren believes if Matchroom want it to happen then everything else will fall into place. Writing in his column, he said: “What I am proposing is to break down the borders and give the fans the fights they want to see.

The first fight which seems to be in place is a potentially historic bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for the undisputed heavyweight championship - a two-fight deal has been agreed in principle.
Adding further to his statement, Warren said he was hoping to deliver fights such as Daniel Dubois vs Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora vs Joe Joyce and Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi in what would be "Queensberry's finest versus the best of Matchroom.”
Warren added: “The fans are longing to see Anthony Yarde take on Joshua Buatsi with light heavyweight supremacy at stake. So am I, let’s get it done.

“Let’s stop any tactical manoeuvring and deliver the fans the fights they want to see.”
While it may seem unrealistic for numerous reasons logistically, the ball is firmly in Hearn’s court.
