Floyd Mayweather pokes fun at Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, praises Billy Joe Saunders

Floyd Mayweather
Former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather couldn’t resist a dig towards Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez as he continued his UK Tour.
The 50-0 star, who recently revealed his interest in buying soccer side Newcastle United, was quick to remind people about the masterclass he delivered in 2013 against the Mexican.
When the pair fought, Mayweather won via majority-decision although it should’ve been a unanimous decision with ‘Money’ easily winning 10 of the 12 rounds. C.J. Ross, who scored the bout 114-114, stepped down from her role as a boxing judge after the controversial scorecard.
According to Mayweather, the fight was ‘so easy’ his team created a nickname for the DAZN star.
"Canelo was so easy. We call him ‘Ca-Lose-eO’,” Mayweather bragged. Continuing to have fun with his fans in Yorkshire, Mayweather added: "The only brother who can beat me is me. Me as well as my shadow. My shadow can beat me too."
Saunders can’t overlook Canelo
Mayweather spoke with optimism about the current state of British boxing, citing Kell Brook and Billy Joe Saunders as the two standout stars. Brook, a former welterweight world champion, was once linked with a clash against Mayweather while Saunders is preparing his upcoming clash against Canelo.
‘Superb’, who will receive the biggest payday of his career on May 2, is bidding to become just the second person after Mayweather to defeat Canelo. The American has sent Saunders words of advice ahead of the Cinco de Mayo battle.
"Me myself, I think Kell Brook is one of the best fighters from the UK and I also think Billy Saunders is one of the best fighters from the UK," he said. "Anything can happen in the sport of boxing… but he [Saunders] must know just because in my fight with Canelo, I used certain angles - Canelo, I can tell he’s been watching my tapes, I can tell Canelo has been studying my moves.
"Canelo fought GGG, he beat [Sergey] Kovalev so Canelo’s making a lot of noise in the sport of boxing, but I don’t want Billy Saunders to overlook Canelo. I think it’s gonna be a helluva fight."
