Eddie Hearn brands Billy Joe Saunders a 'prat' over video controversy

Hearn-Saunders
Eddie Hearn has had his say on Billy Joe Saunders after the world champion apologised for releasing a distasteful video.
The WBO titlist was seen giving advice to followers about how to deal with your female partner if she was ‘giving some back’ during lockdown before unloading on a punchbag.
Saunders then illustrated how to hit her on the chin before talking about how to ‘finish her off’.
The undefeated super-middleweight deleted the video and issued an apology to anyone it may have offended.
“I would never condone domestic violence and if I saw a man touch a woman I would smash him to pieces myself,” Saunders said in a post on Twitter.
“Apologies if I offended any women, stay blessed.”Hearn, Saunders promoter, was on talkSPORT and told Laura Woods about his ‘idiotic’ behaviour.
“I haven't spoken to him yet. I was appalled really, it was so idiotic and so frustrating. I know Billy well, he’s a good kid with a good heart but every now and again he does the most stupid things. ‘Jack the lad’...that may have been funny 20 years ago but not now. There are kids watching this, people in domestic abusive relationships watching it. You can’t do it.
“It's always [like] with Billy, he spent the weekend with the NHS. It's one step forward four steps back. He's got this mentality that it's him against the world - I’ll leave him for now but he’s a prat, what are you doing?
“He does have a good heart but you can't do it when you're in his position. Thinking you're having a laugh or not having a laugh. Especially the timing of it, I can’t justify it at all,” he added.
