  • Daniel Dubois Has A ‘Puncher’S Chance’ Against Oleksandr Usyk Admits Fellow Queensberry Star

Daniel Dubois has a ‘puncher’s chance’ against Oleksandr Usyk admits fellow Queensberry star

A big night of heavyweight boxing awaits in Poland this weekend as Daniel Dubois looks to pull off a major upset against Oleksandr Usyk.

Daniel Dubois will be hoping to throw a major spanner in the works of the heavyweight division when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the WBA, IBF and WBO titles this Saturday night.

The 25-year-old boasts a 19-1 record and has won four straight bouts since his 2020 defeat to Joe Joyce.
The young British star also has 18 knockouts to his name as he looks to cause a major upset in Wroclaw, Poland.
Dubois stepped up to the world title challenge after Usyk and Tyson Fury failed to reach an agreement for an undisputed title fight.

Despite being considered as a major underdog, fellow Queensberry star Hamzah Sheeraz believes Dubois shouldn't be written off.

He told Planet Sport: "It's the heavyweight division. When it comes to heavyweights any of them have a puncher's chance.

"I know Usyk is the favourite going into the fight due to his performances against Anthony Joshua, but at the end of the day, every fighter is different. Styles make fights.
"This is highly unlikely but this fight could suit Dubois. He has to get in there, look for that right hand, knock Usyk out. It will definitely be a big ask of him."
While Usyk defends his titles against Dubois, Fury is gearing up for a special attraction fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.
When asked whether he is disappointed not to see Fury vs Usyk as a boxing fan, Sheeraz said: "You've got to be because they're the two big names in the heavyweight division.
"Whether they get it on next year or whenever it may be, I'm sure it will happen. It's just about them guys reaching an agreement for the benefit of the public.
"Someone's got to think 'you know what, forget it, I've just got to take a loss for that' and make it happen in terms of cementing their legacy in the division."
Sheeraz has business of his own to take care of on the Dubois vs Usyk undercard as he takes on Dmytro Mytrofanov.
