Conor McGregor has claimed he will face Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao next in a boxing bout, something UFC president Dana White denies to be involved in.

Dana White is expressed his frustration and disappointment towards Conor McGregor after the Irishman shared their conversation on social media.
On the messages, White and McGregor were having a conversation about potentially returning to the cage to fight Diego Sanchez. His second fight since defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov was expected to take place in the summer before the coronavirus pandemic disrupted plans.

Adding to a series of tweets, McGregor also confirmed he would be returning for a second professional boxing fight against Manny Pacquiao, something White refused to acknowledge at the post-fight press conference at UFC 253.

"You guys have been asking me about Conor McGregor forever," White said. "Did you see Conor McGregor's tweet? The retirement tweet. 'I'm retired.'"

The "Notorious" hit back straight away on Twitter and demanded the UFC president to "stop lying" about the potential showdown with Pacquiao. McGregor's only bout was a 10-round TKO defeat to Floyd Mayweather in 2017, which saw him pocket over $100m.

White at war with McGregor

"I had people blowing me up left and right," White said. I mean everybody here knows, I mean even the ladies, this is some man-code stuff but it's just something you don't do.
"It's just something that you don't do, it is one of the dirtiest things you can do.
"Which, by the way, because we were just talking about Diego Sanchez. And Diego Sanchez was in there in this private conversation that I was having with Conor McGregor.

"When you are the number 2 or 3 ranked guy in the world, and you're telling me that you want to fight unranked 39-year-old Diego Sanchez in the main event of Los Angeles. Well…"
Replying back, McGreogr said: "I am still interested in a fight with you somewhere down the line Diego Sanchez," the former two-weight champion tweeted. "A true warrior and pioneer of this sport. It would be my honour!

"Some journalists and promoters and their lack of respect for what the fighters put into this game make me sick. Things must change!"
