Chris Billam-Smith and Richard Riakporhe

World championship boxing is coming to London as Chris Billam-Smith defends his WBO Cruiserweight title against former foe Richard Riakporhe.

The two men famously met back in 2019 as Riakporhe went on to claim a split decision victory.

Despite this, it was Billam-Smith who shook off the loss and went on to become a world champion.

Riakporhe is chasing his first world level belt, and he will need to overcome his former opponent if he is to stamp his name into the history books.

Question is, what kind of Billam-Smith performance are we going to see? Pundits and fans alike have questioned whether ‘The Gentleman’ is actually a better fighter today than he was back in 2019.

The champions first title defence was certainly far from convincing. The Englishman was behind on points against Mateusz Masternak before the Pole suffered an injury and couldn’t finish the fight.

Riakporhe, meanwhile, has been knocking people out for fun – winning his last five outings by way of stoppage.

The main event isn’t the only eye-catching bout on the card. The ever-entertaining Ben Whittaker will take to the stage as he challenges for the vacant IBF international title.

Commonwealth and European honours will also be on the line when Isaac Chamberlain and Jack Massey go head-to-head.

Where to watch and start time

The event takes place on Saturday, June 15. The action gets underway at 7pm BST and 2pm ET. Main event ringwalks are expected at around 10pm BST and 5pm ET.
