Anthony Joshua could follow Tyson Fury in fighting a British star next

Anthony Joshua could be forced to look elsewhere as his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk looks increasingly unlikely.

Promoter Frank Warren is open to the possibility of Joe Joyce facing Anthony Joshua next.
The former heavyweight champion was expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch this summer but plans are now on hold with Usyk returning to Ukraine to assist with military defence against the invasion by Russia.

Joshua tasted the second defeat of his career to Usyk in September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In doing so, he relinquished the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles.

The second bout between the pair was expected to take place in north London once again but it is unknown as to whether they will even fight this year, let alone the summer.
Joshua may be forced to look elsewhere and Joyce - a 2016 silver-medallist at the Rio Olympics - is the WBO mandatory challenger and could be a possible opponent for AJ.

Warren - who won the purse bids to promote the all-British clash between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte - would love the chance to promote another domestic dust-up between Joyce and Joshua.

"I think the public would definitely buy into AJ-Joe Joyce. We'd make that in a heartbeat, Joe would fight him in a heartbeat.
"What a great domestic bust-up that is, let's get our heads together and we'll get that done," Warren said.
Joyce was last seen in action over last summer, stopping former world title challenger Carlos Takam in six rounds at Wembley Arena.
The 'Juggernaut' has also beaten Daniel Dubois who was built to become the next superstar of heavyweight boxing in 2020.
Joyce and Joshua have history having spent time together with Team GB in the amateur ranks.

Invite waiting for Joshua to attend Fury-Whyte

Tyson Fury - the WBC titlist - will take on Dillian Whyte on April 23 at Wembley Stadium and an invite is waiting for Anthony Joshua if he wishes to attend.
"Of course [Joshua] can come along to the show. He's been a guest at loads of my shows before he turned professional, he used to come along to the shows. He knows what to do, pick up the phone and we'll sort him out," Warren told IFL TV.
Joshua spoke about the upcoming fight and admitted that despite his dislike for Whyte, he wants the Brixton man to inflict the first defeat on Fury's career.
"It's a good defence against Dillian Whyte," Joshua told iFL TV.
"Dillian Whyte needs to come in and look at what Tyson Fury does and reacts to, and do the complete opposite.
"Work the body and be conditioned to go the distance, I hope Dillian trains hard and doesn't underestimate Tyson.
"Because this is his first [world title] shot for Dillian, I think he'll be hungry - I mean, it's his tenth time fighting for a title, and he can have a little hiccup along the way.
"This is his first time fighting for a title," Joshua continued. "I'm rooting for Dillian, even though I hate him.
"I want to smash him one of these days. Go on, Dillian, go all the way."
