A boat, castle and coliseum have all been mentioned...

Anthony Joshua could be defending his heavyweight world titles in a castle, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn.

The Matchroom mogul revealed he was looking at “quirky ideas” ahead of AJ’s return to the ring against IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua and Pulev were originally expected to collide in June at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but it was postponed following COVID-19.

Joshua (L) holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts

November is now the provisional month for the bout - which will mark Joshua's first fight in the UK since his 2018 win over Alexander Povetkin.
While London’s O2 Arena remains favourite to hold it, Hearn has told Standard Sport that the two titans could trade punches on a castle or “even on a boat” if the UK Government doesn’t lift the current restrictions.
“Other ideas we have are 1,000 people somewhere strange and quirky. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve. We’re talking about castles, plush hotels, maybe even on a boat.
“Croatia have offered a coliseum — and that’s beautiful —and we’re still open to options and flexible.
"These are all things thinking outside of the box — it just depends what’s allowed.”
“By November, can we go to 16,000 people at the O2? Right now, we’re handcuffed by the regulations.”
