Amir Khan makes bold prediction as Hamzah Sheeraz battles Liam Williams in middleweight showdown

Boxing legend Amir Khan has shared his thoughts ahead of Saturday's much-anticipated all-British clash in London between Hamzah Sheeraz and Liam Williams.

Since turning pro in 2017, Sheeraz has steadily forged his path through the middleweight division.

The 24-year-old will now face arguably his toughest test as he prepare to share the ring with former world title challenger Liam Williams.

Sheeraz boasts a perfect 18-0 record with 14 stoppages to his name. The Brit was last in action back in August when he picked up a TKO victory over Dmytro Mytrofanov on the undercard of Daniel Dubois' unsuccessful world title challenge against Oleksandr Usyk.

Williams, 31, is an experienced campaigner with a record of 24-4-1. The Welshman challenged Demetrius Andrade for the WBO title back in 2021 but lost by unanimous decision.

He came back 10 months later, but once again fell short on the score cards against Chris Eubank Jr.

Since then, Williams has picked up back-to-back victories over Nizar Trimech and Florin Cardos. The Machine will now be looking to make it a hat-trick against Sheeraz this Saturday night.

When asked for his thoughts on the bout, former welterweight world champion Amir Khan sided with Sheeraz, believing he has the attributes to take control of the fight and get a late stoppage.

Khan said: “I’m leaning towards Hamzah, he’s got the speed, the power, the movement and he hits very hard for his weight division, I don’t know if Williams will be able to take the power.

“My prediction is; Hamzah to win between rounds 8 to 10, but Williams is still a dangerous opponent who can hit hard and been in there with the big names in boxing.”
