"You can't go swimming and not get wet" - Tyson Fury's five funniest quotes

It's fair to say the undefeated heavyweight world champion is in a league of his own when it comes to trash talk in this era...

Known for his showmanship inside the ring and out, Tyson Fury is regarded as the most charismatic fighter in boxing.

Undefeated from 32 bouts - with his biggest wins coming against "Bronze Dosser" Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko - Fury has won many of his fights by breaking them down mentally with his trash talk.

Planet Sport takes a look at five of his most memorable quotes.

Snubbing Sports Personality of the Year

Fury was nominated for Sports Personality of the Year in 2020 - the second time he had been in the running for the prize after finishing fourth in 2015.

The "Gypsy King" said thanks, but no thanks. 'I can honestly say I'm not really interested in winning BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

'I know for a million percent I've got more personality in the end of my little finger than the whole of the nomination group put together.'

On being knocked to the canvas by Wilder

Fury's first bout with Wilder was the most dramatic contest of 2018 with an unconscious looking Fury rising from the canvas to end the 12th and final round stronger than his American rival.

Speaking about hitting the deck in such spectacular style, Fury said: 'You can't go swimming and not get wet. And I got wet. I got drenched actually.'

Fury's return to form in Belfast

During the second fight of his return to the ring following his struggles with mental health, Fury returned to form during his press conference with Italian opponent Francesco Pianeta.

'I'm going to go out there and smash him to pieces. Make Italian sausage out of him. And that's it. Spicy meatballs!'

On losing to one of his fellow heavyweight contenders

Fury has never shied away from claiming to be the best heavyweight of his era - an era which includes Wilder, Anthony JoshuaDillian WhyteOleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz Jr.

'If I lose to any of these bums, I'll never show my face in public ever again. I'll never be able to call myself the Gypsy King anymore, for losing to a weightlifter or a football player.'

Calling out David Price

At one point it seemed like Fury and David Price were on collision course to determine the best heavyweight on UK shores after the latter had defeated Audley Harrison inside two minutes at the Echo Arena.

Of course, Fury was interviewed about the prospect of facing the 2008 Olympian - and it has since gone on to become an iconic moment.

'To be honest, Harrison is the biggest bum in boxing. I'll fight David Price any day of the week.

'See you, you plumber from Liverpool, it's personal between you and me and I'm going to do you some serious harm you big, stiff idiot.

'It's going to need 10 plumbers to do you when I've got finished with you. You are getting it - for sure. Call me out, call me any names and you are getting it.'
