Best tips and picks for Wednesday’s NBA acca: Beware of the double-digit underdogs on hump day

The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets meet in the second of a back-to-back, while the streaking Detroit Pistons and pesky Washington Wizards also feature.
There are 13 games taking place in the NBA on Wednesday night and as we continue our search for that first acca win of the week, we’re going to stick with what’s served us best.
We’re pushing the boat out with four selections this evening but we’re going to give ourselves plenty of room for error with the additional handicaps.
Tonight’s effort is priced at 6/1 at the time of writing.
Wednesday’s NBA acca
Detroit Pistons @ Phoenix Suns (0200 GMT Thurs)
So far, we’ve identified seven underdogs and added three points. The smallest of those was Chicago at +8, and they won outright. The worst winning effort was a six-point loss for the Hornets.
Tonight we’re going straight back to the Pistons who lost by 14 points against the LA Lakers last night. As anticipated, they couldn’t stop LeBron and AD and now they face the Suns in a tough back-to-back spot.
The Suns are a -13.5 favourite and the Pistons are on a 8-1 ATS run as an underdog of 11+ points, so we’re going to slap some extra security on that line and stick with them.
Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics (0030 GMT Thurs)
The Boston Celtics can take away a game in a second, but they haven’t been doing that lately. They aren’t pulling clear of teams and when they do, they leave the back door open.
Brooklyn looked dead and buried last night but were allowed to make a fist of it late on, losing by eight but covering the +8.5 spread.
Brooklyn are catching an extra four points here which is very advantageous from a betting point of view because they’re been better on the road.
On top of that, we just can’t trust the Celtics to cover double digits against anyone right now, so we’ll happily bump this line up to +15.5 and bet the Nets.
Washington Wizards @ New Orleans Pelicans (0100 GMT Thurs)
The Pelicans have been tough to bet against recently and it’s a little unnerving that they’re 5-1 ATS as a home favourite of 11+ points, because we know what they can do.
That said, the Wizards are 8-1 ATS as a road underdog of 11+ points and this is a very capable offensive team that we think will bounce back here.
The Wiz lost 112-104 to Dallas last time out but still covered the +12.5 spread in that game. The key takeaway is they made seven three-point shots, nine free throws and shot 41% from the field. They should bounce back here.
Chicago Bulls @ Cleveland Cavaliers (0030 GMT Thurs)
Last but not least, the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Chicago Bulls. The Cavs have been on a tear recently, winning nine straight by seven or more, but that came to an end with a loss to the 76ers.
What goes up must come down and while they’ll likely bounce back, we think they’re being overvalued here despite beating the Bulls by double-digits twice this season.
In 12 contests since losing to the Cavs, the worst Chicago has done is go down by nine points, pulling off outright upset wins over Minnesota, Atlanta and so nearly Phoenix.
