Luka Doncic sparkles for the Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic is one of the bright young phenoms in the NBA. He averages 28.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game at just 23 years old.

Doncic is leading the Dallas Mavericks into not only contention for one of the top seeds in the Western Conference but in a great position to get to the NBA Finals this season.

'Luka Magic' is an average-at-best three-point shooter, but he more than makes up for it in other ways, including his ability to score near the rim using his deadly eurostep and other crafty abilities.

Best young floor general?

ESPN recently reached out to 15 league scouts and executives, as the overwhelming majority of them picked Doncic as the young point guard they'd choose to build around. Only point guards who are still on a rookie contract were eligible to be chosen here.

Can't hate on their collective decision here, as the Slovenian has that multifaceted skillset in a 6-foot-7 body that executives around the league would die to have on their team.

Doncic makes all of his teammates better with his playmaking and is always a threat to score, given his aggression and craftiness. Having Jason Kidd as his head coach will only help him become an even better playmaker.
Because of Doncic's rare talent, the Mavs were able to undergo a rather quick turnaround from the moment they drafted him, as they found themselves in the playoffs in back-to-back years after missing out for three consecutive seasons.

There has been criticism thrown Doncic's way for his past inability to stay in shape and going through cold spells at times, but he's still very young and has a long way to go to alleviate those concerns.

As long as he makes a commitment to become the greatest player he could possibly be, then we could very well see him go down as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball.

So far in his young career, Doncic has earned himself two All-NBA awards, with a third one almost certainly coming his way this season and others likely to come throughout his career. An MVP could also be in Doncic's future.
