Saturday's tennis acca tips: Aryna Sabalenka to claim third Madrid title

Planet Sport offers tips and picks for the weekend's tennis action with matches in Madrid, Saint Malo and Lleida.

Aryna Sabalenka appears in another Madrid Open final and is beginning to make the venue her own.

Sabalenka will have to overcome the reigning world No 1 and best player in the world on clay in Iga Swiatek.

Here we make our picks for both Madrid Open finals and a handful of other matches.

ATP Madrid: Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev

Felix Auger-Aliassime is chasing his first Masters title when he faces Andrey Rublev for the sixth time.

Rublev is out for his second Masters title after winning the Monte Carlo Masters last term and leads the head-to-head 4-1.

Auger-Aliassime has one win over Rublev which came in February 2022 on Rotterdam's indoor hard courts.

They have contested one final with Rublev winning that clash in Marseille.

WTA Madrid: Iga Swiatek vs Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka has made her No 2 status safe for now but would love to lift the trophy in Madrid and open up a bit of a cushion.

This will be the tenth meeting between these players and the fourth time they have met in a final.

Swiatek leads the series 6-3 but her last loss to Sabalenka came here in Madrid.

Sabalenka has had a far tougher ride to the final and has played excellent tennis throughout.

WTA Lleida: Mayar Sherif vs Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales

Mayar Sherif has taken on Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales on three occasions but this will be their first meeting on the full tour.

Sherif won two of the three clashes with De Reales in W60 events and is ranked over 200 places higher than her opponent.

Sherif is the leading women's player from Egypt but has slipped away from her peak ranking.

Still, Sherif looks like she should be the one to come through this semi-final clash.

WTA Lleida: Maria Camila Osorio Serrano vs Katerina Siniakova

Maria Camila Osorio Serrano and Katerina Siniakova will meet for the first time in their careers in Lleida.

Siniakova holds the edge in the rankings but Serrano has a title on clay to her name from just a few weeks ago.

Serrano won't be the favourite considering that her title win came at home in Bogota.

Siniakova started her clay campaign with a loss in Madrid but has bounced back very well this week.

WTA Saint Malo: Celine Naef vs Chloe Paquet

Swiss teenager Celine Naef will take on home hope Chloe Paquet in the Saint Malo last four.

Naef has swept into the semis with a run of three straight sets wins and is arguably the form player of the two.

These players have never clashed and Paquet holds a slight rankings edge.

However, Naef has been in great tough throughout the week and Paquet has spent over two hours more on court throughout the tournament.

WTA Saint Malo: Lois Boisson vs Alize Cornet

Unheralded Lois Boisson has to take on her far more lauded compatriot Alize Cornet for a place in the final.

Boisson, at 20 years old, gives up a lot of experience to Cornet who has more than 700 matches under her belt.

This will be the first meeting between the French players and they have similar records throughout the tournament.

Cornet's experience should be the difference in this one but Boisson won't go down without a fight.
