Sheffield Utd vs Nottingham Forest tips and predictions: Another Bramall Lane bruising on the cards

Nottingham Forest will be fighting for their Premier League survival when they travel to Bramall Lane this Saturday for a clash with Sheffield United (1500 BST).

It’s over. It’s finally over. Sheffield United’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed last week following a dreadful 5-1 defeat to Newcastle.

To say that the Blades have endured a woeful campaign would be an almighty understatement.

After 35 games, the South Yorkshire side have only picked up three victories, 16 points, scored less than a goal a game and conceded a whopping 97 goals.

It’s truly one of the worst campaigns in the history of the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest will be looking to pile more misery on Sheffield as they make the trip up north.

Nuno Santo’s side went into this latest round of games sitting just a sole point above Luton Town and the bottom three.

Bearing in mind their precarious situation, nothing short of three points away in Sheffield will do. However, Forest don’t exactly exude confidence with their current run of form.

Forest are winless in eight away matches across all competitions, including four defeats from their last five.

Nottingham have won just two Premier League matches in 2024 – both coming at home against Fulham and West Ham.

Despite their woes, Forest will have plenty of motivation for this encounter. That certainly cannot be said about Sheffield United who are already planning for their return to the Championship.

With all that in mind, we’re backing Forest to pick up all three points. Forest to win by a single goal margin is the way to go.

Both teams to score is also an attractive proposition considering this has landed in Sheffield’s last three games at Bramall Lane.

Team news

Sheffield United will be missing George Baldock, Chris Basham, Tom Davies, John Egan, Daniel Jebbinson, Max Lowe, James McAtee, Ollie McBurnie and Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Nottingham are in far better shape considering their only absentee is Neco Williams.
