Portugal vs Luxembourg tips: Classy Selecao to end visitors unbeaten run

Portugal will welcome Luxembourg to the Algarve on Monday as they look to preserve the best record in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Portugal are almost certain to qualify for the European Championship from Group J after a perfect run of five wins in five matches, with a goal difference of 15-0.

On Monday night, Portugal will host Luxembourg at the Algarve Stadium. Luxembourg has a real chance of qualifying for a major tournament for the first time ever, having produced a major upset. They are currently in third place in their group, tied with Slovakia on 10 points.

Luxembourg has a poor record against Portugal. In the current group stage, Portugal won 6-0 away against Luxembourg.

They also won 3-1 and 5-0 in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. In total, Portugal has won 19 of the 21 matches between the two teams, with Luxembourg's only win coming in 1961.

Portugal are unbeaten since Roberto Martinez took over as manager. They won 1-0 against Slovakia on Friday night, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the only goal. Cristiano Ronaldo will be suspended for Monday's game.

Suggested bet: Portugal to win both halves

Portugal has won all of their home games in this group, defeating Lichtenstein 4-0 and Bosnia 3-0. It is worth noting that Portugal has only lost once at home since November 2021, a 1-0 defeat to Spain in the Nations League a year ago.

In their last 7 home games, Portugal conceded only one goal, against Spain. They have also gone 16 games without a draw.

Luc Holtz's team won 3-1 against Iceland, playing with an extra man after leading 2-0. This victory gave them their third consecutive win.

It is worth mentioning that this recent streak of good form comes after five winless games, both official and friendly. Luxembourg is currently on a five-game unbeaten run away from home, including a 2-0 win in Bosnia and a 3-3 draw in Turkey.

Suggested bet: Portugal to score over 3.5 goals
