  • Thierry Henry Expects Former Barcelona Teammate Lionel Messi To Return To Camp Nou

Thierry Henry expects former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi to return to Camp Nou

Thierry Henry believes Barcelona will win the race for former teammate Lionel Messi's signature should the Argentine superstar end his troubled spell with Paris Saint-Germain.

Thierry Henry is expecting his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi to return to Camp Nou.
Messi has had an underwhelming two years at PSG to say the least after leaving Barca in 2021 where he won the Champions League four times, La Liga ten times, the Copa del Rey seven times, the Club World Cup thrice, the European Super Cup thrice, and the Supercopa de Espana seven times.
The 35-year-old is set to leave France and is being linked with a return to Barca or sign a highly lucrative contract with a club in Saudi Arabia where long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo is plying his trade. However, the now-retired Henry is confident of seeing the Argentine back at the Blaugrana.
Henry, who won multiple trophies over his career with Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal, Barca and France, also slammed the PSG fans for booing the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.
"I understand the whistles, but I don't have to accept them. It's not the first time they've whistled him," said the two-time Premier League Player of the Season.
"People will say that he deserved this or that. But PSG's problem isn't Messi. For me, personally, he made me win things that I had been looking to win for a long time. But I come back to the fact that no one should miss a practice. I can understand the whistles because no one should be above an institution. But it has to be like that all the time with the rules. And rarely have I seen a team that becomes champions having players that are whistled at.
"When you miss a training session, you are sanctioned. But the real division is between the fans and the Qatari era. Messi was never a problem, I played with him and he was always a solution. He was a world champion and he didn't grow old in two months. Yes, he won't be staying at PSG. I would like him to return to Barca. Because when I see Messi, I see Barca."
Messi scored 474 goals in 520 games for Barca and has 21 goals in 55 appearances for PSG.
