  • Ralf Rangnick Denies Bayern Munich Speculation, Focused On Austrian National Team

Ralf Rangnick denies Bayern Munich speculation, focused on Austrian national team

As Bayern Munich brace for Thomas Tuchel's impending departure as head coach at the close of the Bundesliga season, speculation swirls regarding his successor.

Amid the flurry of conjecture, attention has turned to Ralf Rangnick, the current coach of the Austrian national team, who has been linked with the prestigious role at Bayern, affectionately dubbed the Recordmeister.

With a storied career spanning various clubs in Germany, including Stuttgart, Schalke, and RB Leipzig, Rangnick's coaching prowess is widely recognized.

He also was interim coach at Manchester United from 2021, until replaced by Erik ten Hag.

However, he has dismissed any notions of a move to Bayern, affirming his commitment to his current post.

In a recent conversation with Stefan Kumberg, Rangnick quashed the rumours, stating, "I had no conversations or negotiations with Bayern. Why should that have happened? I feel comfortable in the Austrian national team.

"My contract is until 2026, and our journey will continue after the European Championship."

As Rangnick sets his sights on Euro 2024, where Austria are set to face formidable opponents in France, Poland, and the Netherlands, attention shifts to other potential candidates for the Bayern helm.

Brighton manager Robert De Zerbi and Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann have emerged as frontrunners for the coveted position in the Bundesliga, adding further intrigue to Bayern's coaching carousel.
