How will the Premier League title race and relegation battle end?

The Premier League has once again produced an enthralling campaign at both ends of the table, with many still hoping it will go down to the final weekend of the season.

Here we preview the final laps of the season and assess which teams could lift the title or face falling through the relegation trapdoor and into the Championship.

Manchester City and Arsenal in a two-horse title race

For most of 2023/24 Premier League season, Manchester City and Arsenal have been chasing the title with Liverpool.

Though in the last couple of weeks the wheels came off the Reds’ campaign and they will have to settle for third place.

The critical blow came against bitter local rivals Everton at Goodison Park in late April, where they lost 2-0, before being held to a 2-2 draw at West Ham three days later.

This left City and Arsenal in a head-to-head for the title. Pep Guardiola’s City side, aiming for a sixth first-placed finish in seven years, have the advantage with a game in hand but Mikel Arteta’s men have kept the heat on their rivals.

Arsenal have won eight of their last ten games and also developed a habit of keeping clean sheets. Defeating North London rivals Tottenham away from home, followed by a 3-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend pushed them back to the top of the table, but they still need City to slip up.

The Gunners take on Manchester United this weekend and Everton on the final day of the season, while City have Fulham, Spurs and West Ham in their sights. The extra match making them favourites for a fourth title on the trot.

It’s conceivable that both sides could win all of their remaining games and if that is the case, Guardiola's side will be lifting the famous trophy on the final day of the season.

Arsenal need a big favour from one of their London rivals.

Can Luton or Burnley catch Nottingham Forest?

Sheffield United’s relegation has now been confirmed with the Blades marooned at the bottom of the table with a pathetic 16 points and having conceded a whopping 100 goals in 36 matches.

The remaining relegation places down to the Championship need to be filled, and only three teams can fill them.

Everton and Brentford pulled themselves clear in the last few weeks, leaving Nottingham Forest, Luton and Burnley to fight it out.

The Clarets looked cast adrift as early as March, but just two defeats in nine matches has given a slim hope of survival. Although five draws from that run hasn't helped that much.

Despite being pre-season favourites for relegation, Luton have been putting in battling displays and managed to keep themselves in touch with safety.

Nottingham Forest, who lost their appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching the league’s financial rules on Tuesday, have the advantage of currently being in the relative safety of 17th heading in the penultimate weekend of the season.

Last weekend’s win at Sheffield United moved Forest three points above the drop zone and they will guarantee survival with victory over Chelsea at the City Ground this weekend, if Luton fail to win. A draw would almost certainly be enough if both Luton and Burnley fail to win due to Forest’s superior goal difference.

If things don't go to plan, Forest head to Burnley on the final day of the season, which could be a classic if both side are still scrambling for points.

There's still plenty of chances to win big when betting on the final weekends of the season and more offers can be found here to enhance your gambling experience.
