Widnes half back Anthony Watts is set to spend at least six months on the sidelines with a knee injury suffered in Sunday’s loss to Salford.
Watts, who used to play for the Sydney Roosters, was injured 10 minutes into the second half of his Stobart Super League debut after coming on as a replacement.
The 25-year-old tore his right anterior cruciate ligament and is the second Vikings player to be ruled out for six months after Ben Kavanagh injured an Achilles tendon against the Reds.
