Hennessy nightmare for Jessies Dream
2012-02-08 08:08:40
Leopardstown is gearing up to stage the big race on Sunday but Jessies Dream has been pulled out after failing to convince Elliott of his “sparkle”.
The trainer wrote in his exclusive column for Betfair that “with time against us, I’m not sure he will make the track at all this season”.
Following the acceptors there are 10 horses entered for the Hennessy Gold Cup, including Jonjo O’Neill’s Synchronised and Colm Murphy’s Quito De La Roque.
The race is a precursor to the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March although that field will boast the likes of Long Run, Kauto Star and Grands Crus.
Paul Nicholls has already stated it will be close between Kauto Star and Long Run after the latter’s success of 2011, with Denman now retired after a distinguished career.
