Gayle: It was a good way to start the tour. It was a slow track and it is a good start for the team. Credit goes to Pollard for the way he batted. He took the pressure off me. Power is the key factor in these conditions and one has to do a lot of running. One can accelerate later on in the innings.

Sammy: It feels good to win. Posting 200 on the board was good. The way Gayle batted was great. The partnership with Pollard was special. To come back and defend 200 on this wicket was very good. We need to promote cricket in the US. There was good support here and it felt like I was playing in St. Lucia. Pollard is fine and we have an excellent physio at our services.
Ross Taylor: The shoulder is pretty sore and I am going for scans. Oram has a niggle in his knee while Hira has a fractured finger. We did not bowl or bat well today. Credit to Gayle and Pollard for the way they batted. We were not able to execute our plans. I am sure we will have a fit squad tomorrow.
Narine: It is good to be back in warm conditions. This pitch was a bit helpful but it was a good wicket. A total of 209 gives us less pressure. We need to work in some departments and I hope to perform well tomorrow.

West Indies have outclassed New Zealand in all departments. 210 was always going to be a difficult target on a pitch that got slower. Nicol tried to be aggressive but he had no support from the other batsmen. Narine had another impressive match. Taylor retired hurt on 10 to give New Zealand more anxious moments. Oram provided a flourish towards the end but in the end, it was a bridge too far for the Kiwis as they lost the match by 56 runs. This is West Indies first victory across all formats after nine matches.
