Salisbury best bet: Jazz Scene to defy the odds

The Tipstrr camp have been peering their collective eye over Salisbury's Sunday card, with this competitive sprint to the finish attracting a lot of attention.

15:55 Salisbury: Side Glance Novice Stakes (7 furlongs)

In a meeting with many depleted fields, this seven-furlong sprint sees eight coming to post so each-way value may be of interest to punters.

Fast Society is the early market leader and is the only one of the field to have bagged a win in their fledgling careers.

A disappointing debut at Nottingham was followed by a brilliant win over this distance on the all-weather at Southwell back in September prior to his winter break.

It will be interesting to see how the gelding gets on when fresh but he is definitely the one to beat.

With eight coming to post, there will be three places up for grabs and there are plenty of unknown quantities in this field including debutant Synthesize.

Henry Candy's three-year-old is worth a shout as he comes from good pedigree, his sire, Land Force, was a three-time winner.

However, our selection for this one is Jazz Scene as he looks to continue the good form of Sir Mark Prescott's yard.

The gelding didn't set to world alight when finishing seventh out of 11 over this distance at Doncaster just over a week ago, but with that first run in the bag he should improve here.

Prescott has had a good time of it recently, with the yard's last 15 runners yielding nine top three finishes.

Meanwhile, Luke Morris is a decent booking with the jockey finding the first three in 32 percent of his races in 2024.

We think Jazz Scene will make the frame here and give punters a return with odds of 9/1.

Suggested best bet: Jazz Scene each-way in the 15:55 at Salisbury
