Swansea City v Chelsea

2012-01-30 06:51:30

Chelsea stalwart Frank Lampard is doubtful to make the trip to Swansea for their Premier League clash at Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

The midfielder missed the Blues’ 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday due to a calf injury, but if passed fit should take a spot in the middle of the park in place of Ramires.

The Brazil international is ruled out for what is expected to be a month after suffering medial ligament damage against Rangers.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is still without midfielder John Obi Mikel (hamstring), while Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are still on African Nations Cup duty.

The west Londoners are fourth on the table and trail third-placed Tottenham by five points, but lead fifth-placed Arsenal by the same amount.

While out of the running for title honours, Villas-Boas’ charges can still build a good head of steam in the league for their cup commitments as well as make amends for their disappointing goalless draw at Norwich last time out.

Meanwhile, the Swans manager Brendan Rodgers has virtually a fully fit squad to choose from.

The only injury concern for the Welsh side is Ferrie Bodde, who is struggling with a knee injury.

Nathan Dyer, Danny Graham and Scott Sinclair are expected to return to the starting lineup, alongside Joe Allen and Leon Britton, who should replace Josh McEachran and Kemy Agustien.
