Rovers recruit second Olsson

2012-01-31 04:01:21

Marcus Olsson will be plying his trade in the Premier League alongside his twin brother Martin after Blackburn signed the winger from Halmstads BK.

The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a forward, has joined Rovers on a free transfer after putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The siblings are reunited at Ewood Park with centre-back Martin having arrived at the Lancashire club in January 2006 after former manager Mark Hughes recruited him from Hogaborgs BK, where the Sweden internationals began their careers.

They both had trials at the Premier League outfit in 2005, but where Martin went on to eventually sign, Marcus returned to his homeland before making the move to Halmstad in 2008.

He becomes Steve Kean’s second capture of the January transfer window after the under-fire Blackburn boss recently brought in Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste on loan for the remainder of the season.
