Brighton manager Guy Poyet is hopeful that the loan acquisitions of Manchester City duo Abdul Razak and Gai Assulin will breathe new life into his side’s promotion bid.
The youngsters, surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium, have been allowed to join the Championship promotion hopefuls on short-term deals.
Razak, who had a loan spell at Portsmouth last year, joins the Seagulls on a 93-day loan, while Assulin, a product of the Barcelona youth academy, signed a one-month deal.
“Abdul is the type of midfielder I have wanted to bring into the squad for some time,” said Poyet. “He is someone we have been aware of for a while.
“Gai is technically very capable, and has great ability on the ball. He showed great potential as an outstanding young talent under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona - I hope he can realise some of that potential here at Brighton.”
