Norwich secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a crushing 4-1 win over Championship outfit Burnley.
The Canaries were in front after just six minutes, when Grant Holt headed in Wes Hoolahan’s cross and things would soon get even better for the home fans.
It was 2-0 to the Premier League club with 12 minutes on the clock, this time it was Simeon Jackson who claimed a headed goal following a cross from Adam Drury.
Burnley did threaten a fightback though, when Jay Rodriguez got his head on a Ross Wallace free-kick and beat Canaries goalkeeper Declan Rudd.
Holt could have twice added to Norwich’s lead in the early stages of the second half, firstly missing a penalty, after Charlie Austin was adjudged to have handled, and then striking the post with a close-range shot.
But Paul Lambert’s men secured a crucial third goal on the hour mark, with midfielder Andrew Surman finishing off a fine move.
Norwich put the seal on the victory on 73 minutes, when Aaron Wilbraham forced a save from Lee Grant but Steve Morison was on hand to finish off the rebound.
