Leicester secured a 2-1 win at Norwich to book a place in the last eight of the FA Cup thanks to David Nugent’s second-half winner.
Nigel Pearson’s side were good value for their win over Norwich and got off to a dream start when Sean St. Ledger’s glancing header found the back of the net after five minutes.
Norwich, who sit in eighth place in the Premier League, could have gone ahead prior to the goal when Steve Morison blazed over from close range but responded well to going behind as Simeon Jackson saw his shot from a tight angle fly over the crossbar.
On 23 minutes the hosts won a penalty when Elliott Bennett was pushed over by Kasper Schmeichel and Wes Hoolahan converted his rebounded spot-kick after the Foxes keeper saved his initial strike.
Neither side could take the lead before half-time although Lloyd Dyer and Hoolahan saw efforts whistle past the post at either end.
Dyer squandered a Leicester chance straight after the restart when he latched onto Nugent’s flick and lifted a volley over the bar from 12-yards.
Paul Lambert’s side should have gone in front when Leon Barnett poked Anthony Pilkington’s corner straight at the Foxes goalkeeper and the defender almost made amends minutes later when his header was turned off the line by Neil Danns.
Nugent put the visitors back in the lead on 71 minutes with a clinical finish before Jermaine Beckford hit the outside of the post with a left-footed effort in the closing stages.
In the end Nugent’s goal was enough for Leicester to see off the top-tier opposition and put their name in the hat for tomorrow’s quarter-final draw.
