Tom Huddlestone will undergo another operation on his injured ankle, although Tottenham insist the midfielder’s rehabilitation is going well.
The 25-year-old is set for further surgery and will go under the knife on Friday to address the ligament damage that has kept him out of action since August.
Huddlestone has only featured for Spurs on four occasions this season due to his predicament with the White Hart Lane outfit non-committal on the player’s expected comeback.
“Tom will undergo a second stage of surgery on Friday to further his recovery following ankle surgery at the end of last year,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness.”
The former Derby County player’s inaction will also jeopardise his chance of selection for England’s squad for the European Championships in June.
