Manchester City lived up to pre-match expectations as they thrashed FC Porto 4-0 in the second leg of their Europa League last 32 tie.

City took a handy 2-1 lead into the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, but in the end didn’t need the advantage, as they soon showed the visitors who’s the boss.

Sergio Aguero didn’t leave the home fans waiting for long. The Argentine striker put the first goal on the board in the first minute as he finished smartly after a Yaya Toure assist.

City were well in control of proceedings thereafter but only scored their second in the 76th minute when Edin Dzeko netted.

This seemed to open the flood gates as David Silva scored number three in the 84th minute before Pizarro joined the party just two minutes later.

City’s last two goals came against 10 men as Rolando Da Fonseca was shown a second yellow card shortly after the Dzeko strike.

The win sees City through to the last 16 with a 6-1 win on aggregate. They will next face Sporting Lisbon or Legia Warsaw.
