Alex McLeish’s Aston Villa can expect a stern test when league leaders Manchester City make the trip to Villa Park on Sunday.

McLeish is hopeful of having a trio of players back in contention after seeing his side pick up one point from their last two fixtures.

Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor (back and hamstring), winger Marc Albrighton (thigh) and central defender James Collins (calf) will face late fitness tests ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Midfielder Chris Herd will definitely miss out with an ankle injury, while on-loan striker Robbie Keane will make his final home appearance before returning to parent club Los Angeles Galaxy.

Manchester City are boosted by the return of defender Vincent Kompany following a knee injury.

Midfielder Samir Nasri suffered a groin injury in last week’s defeat of Fulham but should be fit to play some part in the clash.

Striker Mario Balotelli serves the final match of a four-game suspension, while the Toure brothers are still at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
