Zaha: Urged to stay on

Darren Ambrose does not want Wilfried Zaha to make the same mistakes he did by swapping the Championship for the Premier League too early.
Zaha was linked with several Premier League clubs during the January transfer window although no move materialised for the 19-year-old winger.
Ambrose is well aware of the lure of the top-flight and understands why Zaha would be tempted to jump at the opportunity. However, having signed for Newcastle from Ipswich as a 19-year-old in 2003 the midfielder never really managed to reach the potential his talents promised.
Ambrose said: “Wilfried is a fantastic prospect.
“Every day in training he does something special which you don’t see many players do.
“He has a fantastic future ahead of him, but I hope he’s not in the Premier League too soon.
“It happened to me when I left Ipswich for Newcastle and it’s difficult to turn down when top clubs come calling. But it wouldn’t do him any harm to develop his game more at Palace.”
