Chelsea captain John Terry is set for a further two months on the sidelines with a troublesome knee injury.
The 31-year-old, who will undergo surgery shortly, damaged his right knee after colliding with a post in an FA Cup clash with Portsmouth last month.
Under-fire Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas was hoping to utilise Terry in Tuesday night’s 3-1 loss at Napoli in the Champions League.
However, Terry woke up on the morning of the game in pain prompting a date with the surgeon’s knife.
Chelsea have not kept a clean sheet since the centre-back was first ruled out three weeks ago.
