Best tips and picks for Tuesday’s NBA acca: Knicks host Grizzlies, Thunder visit Jazz

We’ve picked out our three favourite bets for Tuesday night’s NBA, added a few points and thrown them together in a three-team acca.

The Brooklyn Nets let us down on night one of our brand new nightly NBA acca feature, but we knew it was the riskiest selection of the three.

There were comfortable covers for the New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets elsewhere, so let’s get straight back to it.

Tonight’s effort is priced at 3/1 at the time of writing.

Tuesday’s NBA acca

New York Knicks -12.5

Houston Rockets +12.5

Utah Jazz +6.5

Memphis Grizzlies @ New York Knicks

The Grizzlies are in a pickle. They lost 131-91 to Boston with just eight players available, a couple of whom they signed on a 10-day contract from the G League.

They shot 38% from the field and turned the ball over 19 times as the Celtics stole the ball nine times and won the rebound battle 59-47.

The Knicks were beaten by the Lakers last time out as Julius Randle’s absence finally caught up with them, so although they’re shorthanded too, they’ll be eager to bounce back tonight.

Memphis had 13 players on their latest injury report and they could all be absent again this evening against a very stingy defence.

Jalen Brunson should be good for 40+ if he sees extended minutes, which he could well do as the Knicks have two full days of rest after this match.

Houston Rockets @ Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers have lost six of their previous 10. Although they’ve had some notable ATS wins against Phoenix, Boston and Philly, they were the underdog there.

Here, they’re being asked to cover a fairly large number that we’re going to make larger by adding three points. If Tyrese Halliburton plays at all, his minutes will be limited again.

The Houston Rockets are doing a pretty bad job on the road whatever way you look at it, but this is the sort of game we don’t see the Pacers being overly motivated to win big in.

If anything, the Rockets will want to avenge the Boxing Day home loss they suffered at the hands of Indiana.

Indy has played such a tough schedule this season, they’re always motivating themselves to face winning teams. Houston wins less than 40% of games on the road.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Utah Jazz

The Thunder are a moderate -3 road favourite here having beaten Utah in straight contests. OKC ran won 134-120 at home and 134-129 in Utah.

We can see the Jazz closed the gap on their home court and double revenge is a major factor here.

We also have to note that Utah already has one of the best home advantages in the league, but they’ll be the fresher side as they had two days of rest before beating the Bucks last time out.

On the other hand, the Thunder had to work hard to overturn a 23-point deficit before eventually beating the Toronto Raptors in overtime.

As we mentioned last night, looking at a sample size of 642 games, NBA teams off the back of an overtime loss have lost their next game 55% of the time.
